The Governing Body of Taekwondo in Malta
The association stands as the sole governing body of taekwondo in Malta.
The MTA is recognized by World Taekwondo (WT) as its only member national association in Malta. It is affiliated with the ETU, MOC, MPC, SportMalta, and the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations (Malta).
The MTA shall consist of taekwondo academies/clubs functioning within the national boundaries of Malta and their individual members who shall have the freedom to practice taekwondo with the academy/club of their choice.
The MTA is an autonomous, independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit, voluntary organization of unlimited duration in the form of an association.
The Official MTA Statute
The statute was last approved in an Annual General Meeting held on 21st March 2022. It can be downloaded by clicking on the button below.
With the adoption of this Statute, the MTA takes over all legal and financial representation and responsibilities of the Malta Taekwondo Federation and henceforth the MTA shall be the only governing body of the sport of taekwondo throughout Malta.
No provision in this Statute shall conflict with or derogate from the rules of WT. In case of conflict between any provision of this Statute and any provision in the rules of WT, the latter shall prevail and the former shall be deemed to have no effect. Any amendments thereof shall always be in accordance with the rules of WT and remain subject to the final revision and approval of WT.
