Dragon team’s gold medal came from Aretina Chamaleli (Junior F -55kg), who won the semifinal and final with a score of 2:0 in both fights.

Following that, there came five silver medals.

Shania Magro (senior F -53kg) won her quarter-final match 2:0. She advanced to the semi, where she bagged another 2:1 win. Shania lost in the final round despite a superb performance. Her performance saw to the team’s first silver medal.

Samuel Vella (cadet M -45kg) registered two wins with a score of 2:0 in the quarter and semi-final. He advanced to the final but lost 2:0 against Miah Omar (GBR). His performance led to the team’s second silver.

Nathan Degiorgio (cadet M -53kg) also registered two wins in his quarter and semi-final rounds. He proceeded to the final but was forced to withdraw before time due to an injury sustained in the previous match. Regardless, Nathan collected the team’s third medal.

Luke Chircop (Cadet M -57kg) won the semifinal with a score of 2:0. He then advanced to the final, where he lost 2:0 against opponent Tewolde Yonathan (GBR).

Nicole Bunce (Senior F -62kg B) made her international debut and landed straight in the final of the B class set. Bunce fought hard but narrowly missed a win. Still, she snagged the team’s fifth silver medal.

Jerome Vassallo (Senior M -74kg) made a comeback in the competitive scene, registering a solid performance. He won his first round but lost the next two, bowing out with a 2:1 score against his British opponent.

Dragon Academy Malta marked a remarkable performance abroad. On that note, the MTA would like to congratulate all athletes and team coach Mauro Busuttil, who prepared the athletes and led the fray on the day.
